A fascinating vehicle has appeared cruising around Knowle dedicated to that legendary local loudmouth, Lib Dem councillor Gary Hopkins. It’s certainly an interesting addition to the local elections but what does it all mean?
We’ve no idea if any of it’s true but here’s the text we’ve lovingly copied from one of its posters anyway:

1) HE HAS DUBIOUS LINKS TO A COMPANY CALLED LANDVEST. A COMPANY BASED IN THE ISLE OF MAN – A TAX HAVEN. THIS COMPANY IS BUYING UP LAND IN KNOWLE AND SELLING IT ON TO MAKE HUGE PROFITS.
2) HOW DOES A LOCAL COUNCILLOR GET TO OWN A LUXURY VILLA IN SPAIN?????
3) MR HOPKINS IS A LIAR HE APPROACHES CONSTITUENTS AND GETS THEM TO LIE TO FULFIL HIS OWN AGENDA. HE HAS LIED BY STATING THE LABOUR CANDIDATE LIVES IN TOTTERDOWN WHEN IN FACT HE LIVES IN KNOWLE” DOES MR HOPKINS NEED A SAT NAV OR AZ OF BRISTOL?
4) FACT MR HOPKINS HAS BEEN SEEN LETTING HIS DOG FOUL REDCATCH PARK. DOES HE CLEAN UP THE EXCREMENT? NO!

At last someone has spoken up against such a bully. Can’t believe this serial liar is still up for election after the latest episode of his planning foul ups. He is not fit to be in office and a disgrace to the people of knowle.
Gary Hopkins has a history of losing the bristol tax payer money for personal gain. £60000 for revoking planning of his neighbours house in her garden. That was the estimated compensation. What a nasty piece of work. Should be out of office.
Well, from what I hear from people who have had the misfortune to run into him, most of the comments on this “mystery van” (magical mystery tour bus?) are not too wide of the mark. It’s almost like he’s in the Bristol Mafia – he seems to have tentacles everywhere, usually pursuing some greasy agenda of his. He seems to have many council officers willing to do his bidding however unsavoury, unfair, and downright dishonest it might be – one has to wonder what hold he has over them to exert this influence – is it the dreaded “brown paper envelopes” or that he knows some real dirt on them, or are they all spineless jelly fisht who at the sight of 25stones of heaving, slimy fat, just shit themselves and say “yes Gary, whatever you say”. God knows – but I hope whoever is behind this, succeeds in getting this disgusting slimeball kicked out of local politics like he should have been long, long ago.
This guy seems like a real rat-bag. Serving himself. As far as I can see, he doesn’t care who he treads on to further his own interests. I won’t be voting Lib Dem with people like that in the party. Let’s hope he is chucked out when the election comes.

Hmmm, I gather there was a bit of a rumpus over in Fishponds, and the locals were not amused that Gary (toad in the hole) Hopkins was not exactly in tune with what the locals wanted. Err he’s a politician, isn’t he supposed to at lease listen to what people want? Even if he goes on afterwards – like most politicians – to ride roughshop over people’s wishes. Anyhow, methinks, reading all this stuff about what Gary (I’m the greatest) Hopkins, has been doing with Landvest, that maybe there’s some other offshore property company, that was involved with the Fishponds sage – maybe Landvest, maybe some other Isle of Man outfit – but if anyone has any info on it, please post it on here for all to see. Maybe they are the ones giving out villas in Spain? Someone is definitely making absolutely loads of money out of planning permissions being granted in Bristol, and a certain Gary (I can tell the most porkies) Hopkins always seems to be involved somewhere – surely they must reward him for all his tireless efforts on their behalf. It would be really mean of them not to. In fact we should start a petition to make sure that they are rewarding him properly if they haven’t already done, so – because it just wouldn’t be fair otherwise would it? Any Americans reading this, just ignore it, because I gather you don’t do irony!
At last …The Bristolian is telling us how it is….Gary Hopkins who “dons” a lovely Isle of Man outfit Landvest,and as is always the case….feeding on Brown envelopes!!!(looks like he has eaten a few !!) EL GORDO as they call him in Spain does not deserve the support of his party or most importantly his voting constituents..Knowle deserves more..He has made a pigs ear of his tenure and is due for the Chop!!

A bit of insider info on bully boy Hopkins. He has bullied his female council staff using threatening language and has bullied fellow councillors. Talking of dog poo. He has been seen allowing his dog to poo in Redcatch Road Park.. When approached by a member of the public to pick it up he told them to f off. So dont vote for this vile piece of poo and let in somebody else who will represent the good people of Knowle .
Interesting, and very telling isn’t it, that the only person to stick up for Gary (I weigh 24 stone) Hopkins, is Mr Comer (or should that be In a coma?). Who incidentally, happens to be a Lib Dem. Really – shame on you LIb Dems, I always thought you stood up for decency, and honesty, and integrety – but it seems not, at least not messrs Hopkins & Comer. When is Lib Dem HQ going to get a grip and deselect these to throwbacks – come to that, they should be thrown back – to the swamp where they belong, with all the other alligators and crocodiles! I have just read a few archived articles from the Bristol Evening Post. It appears Mr Hopkins, apart from the revoked planning application fiasco what a NIMBY (not in my back yard), he was also a principle participant in the Bristol Transport cock-up which cost the council over £2.2M when they attempted to stop funding our already expensive Bus system and put it out to tender. He was removed from the BCC post of Transport minister after the elections in 2011.
Gary hopkins has successfully lost the tax payer over 2.5 million pounds in the last few years. How can this so called financial adviser be taken seriously. He is not only a bully and a cheat he is bad for Bristol. I understand that he is now subject to an independent enquiry as a result of continuous complaints about his conduct. Let’s hope he is taken down and forced to resign.
